Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is located in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. It is situated in the western corridor of the famous park which protects one of the last migration corridors and one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. The Grumeti River winds its way through one of the richer areas of the Serengeti, bringing life to the plains and creating many watering holes and crossing points for the Great Migration.
This camp is ideally suited to observe the migration: In fact, the camp is situated on a section of land formed by an oxbow bend in the Grumeti River, which is the same world-renowned river known for its wildebeest crossings and enormous Nile crocodiles.
The camp is pure, yet luxurious and romantic and is fenced on all sides by natural vegetation. June and July are when the migration passes through the river by Grumeti Camp, and the tented accommodation overlooking the river offers front-row seats to this extraordinary event.
The ten ensuite tents offer more flamboyant and colorful Masai-style decorated accommodation than other camps. All the tents are equipped with ceiling fans, mosquito nets, hot and cold running water, flushing toilets, outdoor shower, hairdryer, and safe. The tents are situated on the banks of the Grumeti River and offer fantastic river views and sounds. The tents are discreetly placed to provide maximum privacy.
Morning and evening game drives are in open 4 x 4 safari vehicles. These are the best times for game drives as you are most likely to see predators during these times. There are also hot air balloon trips, bird watching, and Lake Victoria day trips. Guest can also organize a private guided safari, which is ideal for those interested in photography, birding, or botany.
